Since launching his international career with winning the prestigious Swiss Ambassador's Award in London
and his debut recital at London's Wigmore Hall in 2013, Joseph-Maurice Weder has continued to capture the
attention of critics and audiences.

2014-2015 saw him on tour with Berliner Camerata in South America (Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador,
Uruguay) and in Norway. Other important concerts took place at the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg, in Berlin, as a
soloist with the Sinfonieorchester Basel and at Zurich Tonhalle. During the season 2015-2016, Joseph-
Maurice Weder made his debuts at the Berlin Philharmonie and at the Musikverein Vienna. In 2017, he will
perform again at the Berliner Philharmonie as well as in South America and in Switzerland, Spain and
Germany. He will tour Switzerland with the Kazakhstan Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra in Zurich, Lugano
and Basel and take part at the "Festival de Musica de Cámara de Godella" in Spain. Additionally, he will
record a new CD for MDG and appear as a soloist several times with the Berliner Camerata in Germany and
in Switzerland.

Joseph-Maurice Weder performs regularly in prestigious concert halls such as Wigmore Hall London, Vienna
Konzerthaus, Berliner Philharmonie, Tonhalle Zurich, Musikverein Vienna, Laeiszhalle Hamburg, the
Residenztheater in Munich, Stadt-Casino Basel as well as in Venice, Belfast, Edinburgh and Cardiff. A
sought for soloist, he performed with Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie, Kazakhstan Philharmonic Chamber
Orchestra, Sinfonieorchester Basel, Orquestra Sinfônica do Teatro Nacional de Brasília, Chamber Orchestra
of the City of Bratislava and Chamber Orchestra of the Bavarian Philharmonic.
Fond of chamber music, Joseph-Maurice Weder performed with Gautier Capuçon, Nelson Goerner, Kian
Soltani, Marc Bouchkov.

His discography includes a successful recording of both Chopin Concerti in chamber version with the
Berliner Camerata for the German label Oehmsclassics. In 2007, he released a live recording of Beethoven’s
3rd piano concerto with The Chamber Orchestra of the City of Bratislava/ Slovakia. Next projects are "the
London Recital", recorded live at the Wigmore Hall (since autumn 2016 worldwide online) and an all new
studio session on the b minor Sonata by Liszt and the Kinderszenen by Schumann.

Joseph-Maurice Weder entered the Musikhochschule Basel at the age of 12, under the guidance of Prof.
Adrian Oetiker. From 2011 until 2015 he studied with Prof. Filippo Gamba. He attended master classes with
Piotr Anderszewski, Dmitri Alexeev, Prof. Homero Francesch, Prof. Gérard Wyss and Louis Lortie.

Besides his concert activity, his great passion is teaching. In 2017 he was appointed to the piano faculty at
the College in Aarau (Neue Kantonsschule Aarau). Furthermore he was invited as a Guest Professor to give
masterclasses at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, Universidad EAFIT in Medellín und "Instituto
de Artes da Universidade Estadual Paulista" de São Paulo.
